Documenting A Cosmetics Visit Using Our Plastic Surgery-Specific EMR, EMA®

Hi, I’m Bileili Villegas, Sales Solutions Engineer at ModMed for plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine. I‘d like to show you how quick and easy it is to document a cosmetic visit using EMA, our plastic surgery-specific EHR.

Our patient, Jane Doe, is coming in today for a breast augmentation consultation and Botox, so let’s review her health history. On the left-hand side of the overview screen, you’ll see the patient’s past medical and plastic surgery-specific history, along with medications and allergies. This provides a high-level view of the patient’s overall health at a glance for your consult.

Now, let’s move on to the virtual exam room. The Anatomical Atlas feature allows you to choose from different diagrams to capture your documentation in high-resolution visuals. You can capture measurements for your breast augmentation consult directly on the diagram using our drawing tool, then save it to the visit to complete your note.

Next I will counsel the patient on her options for surgery. Our camera tool allows you to snap patient photos in real time. The image comparison tool enables a side-by-side view of baseline photos with categorization, saved directly to the patient’s chart.

Now we can move on to the Botox. Inside of our Special Plans tab on the right-hand side, you’ll find most commonly used cosmetic injectables, along with any other plan you would need in a cosmetic practice. Selecting our Botox plan under the Popular Plans tab will allow you to specify the injection details, including post procedure instructions

Using the drawing tool, we can mark the number and location where the Botox was injected. You can also create a legend to easily keep track of the types of injectables administered, saving to the visit note to complete.
