Something you don’t think about very much is patient education. EMA has lots of built-in counseling blocks for patients that can be customized or edited for each patient. They’re not grasping everything when you’re talking to them in clinic. So some of the details or some of the things that are commonly forgotten are included in the note under the counseling plans. I think that’s great and I find myself doing less typing. Especially if you’re dealing with a lot of surgery patients to make sure that you’ve discussed all of the options, the risk, and have that physical documentation that you did so.
