The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics Selects Modernizing Medicine’s Suite of Orthopaedic Software Solutions
160+ physician group to streamline technology efficiencies across 60+ locations throughout Virginia-D.C.-Maryland region
Boca Raton, Fla. – June 23, 2020 – Modernizing Medicine® today announced that one of the largest private providers of orthopaedic care in the nation, The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics (CAO), has chosen the company’s suite of integrated solutions. This new agreement includes Modernizing Medicine’s top-rated orthopaedic electronic health records (EHR) system, EMA®, Practice Management and Analytics platforms along with its ModMed® Pay solution for all of its office locations.
CAO was founded in 2013 when more than 20 independent orthopaedic practices in the Virginia-Washington, D.C.-Maryland region came together to redefine and empower the private practice business model. Today, CAO is one of the largest independent groups of orthopaedic physicians nationwide with 28 divisions. Serving patients with a wide range of orthopaedic needs, the organization was founded with the mission of being the national leader in delivering the highest quality and compassionate orthopaedic care through the private practice model.
“As an organization, we needed to not only find the right suite of integrated solutions, but really the right company to collaborate with for a long-term investment,” shared Louis Levitt, M.D., M.Ed., vice president and secretary of CAO. “EMA’s attractive and easy-to-use interface was very appealing, and the software also filled our critical mission to acquire clinical information to practice value-based medicine and participate in risk contracting. We look forward to working with the Modernizing Medicine team to enhance the patient experience and improve clinical outcomes.”
“There is a lot of enthusiasm from our staff members for this change and Modernizing Medicine is an ideal and complementary organization to work with. We’re confident that they will work to help us achieve our short- and long-term goals,” stated Richard Robinson, chief operating officer of CAO.
President and Chief Operating Officer at Modernizing Medicine Joe Harpaz, shared, “We are thrilled to have been selected by a practice of the size, scale and prestige of CAO. A practice with the growth and innovation goals of CAO requires great healthcare technology to support its mission. Modernizing Medicine is committed to empowering orthopaedic practices with innovative cloud-based healthcare tech. Our EHR and practice management systems along with our telehealth solution are tailored to meet the needs of growing orthopaedic practices in the face of the new normal.”
Coming off the heels of EMA being named the number one EHR in orthopaedics for three consecutive years by the Black Book™ 2020 survey, Modernizing Medicine continues to innovate by utilizing structured data, with a team inclusive of on-staff orthopaedic physicians, to adapt to each provider’s unique style of practice. The mobile- touch- and cloud-based solution was designed to help orthopaedic physicians move through exams and procedures efficiently and improve practice performance. In addition to EMA, the ModMed® Orthopedics suite includes Practice Management, Business Operations Services, Analytics and patient engagement tools, including ModMed Telehealth.
