Renowned health information technology professional group selects industry experts from Modernizing Medicine to guide EHR Association’s principles and strategies
Boca Raton, Fla. – January 17, 2017 – Modernizing Medicine, Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Nadeem Dhanani, MD, MPH, Medical Director of Urology, as the newest member of the Electronic Health Record Association (EHRA) Executive Committee, and Ida Mantashi, PMP, LSSGB, Senior Product Manager, as the Chair of the EHRA’s Quality Measurement Workgroup.
The EHR Association is a renowned trade association comprised of experts and thought leaders from companies across the healthcare industry that provide the vast majority of operational EHR systems to physician practices and hospitals across the United States.
Since joining Modernizing Medicine as the Medical Director of Urology, Dr. Dhanani has proven to be a pivotal member of the team. He guided the development and helped code EMA™, the mobile EHR system in ModMed Urology™, to help improve the efficiencies of urologists. In his new role, Dr. Dhanani will help to shape the guiding principles of the EHRA and contribute to the development and execution of its strategic plans.
“I am honored to join the EHR Association’s Executive Committee to help lead and produce constructive policies and plans to advance and improve the EHR community and subsequently healthcare as a whole,” said Dr. Dhanani. “This is an exciting time for healthcare and health IT, and by working collectively with other members of the EHR Association, we’ll further one of the goals ‘to understand, educate, and collaborate with all stakeholders engaged with EHRs and health information technology.”
Mrs. Mantashi joined Modernizing Medicine in 2015 and has since been leading the product teams’ quality reporting initiatives such as Meaningful Use, EHR Certification and MIPS. As Chair of the Quality Measurement Workgroup, Mrs. Mantashi will assist in identifying opportunities and barriers related to how healthcare technology can facilitate improvements in care quality. The Quality Measurements Group focuses on clinical decision support and electronic quality measure collection and reporting.
“I am delighted to join such a prominent organization within the health IT space and I look forward to the contributions my background and expertise will provide,” said Ida Mantashi. “In today’s changing landscape, efficient methods for physician reporting are crucial to the success of the entire healthcare community, and it is my goal to help identify better ways to capture quality measurements.”
Led by the Executive Committee, the EHR Association is comprised of workgroups that focus on standards and interoperability, patient safety, delivery system reform, quality measurement, clinician experience, public policy leadership, certification, meaningful use, and privacy and security. Based on the premise that “many heads are better than one,” the EHRA believes that the rapid, widespread adoption of EHR systems is essential to improve the quality of patient care, as well as the productivity and sustainability of the healthcare system as a key enabler of healthcare transformation.
“Both Dr. Dhanani and Mrs. Mantashi are uniquely suited to serve the EHRA. Dr. Dhanani’s decades of medical experience and knowledge gained through working with renowned institutions such as Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates and the Dana-Farber Harvard Cancer Center will help drive critical decisions,” shares Barbara Hobbs, EHRA’s Membership Committee Chair. “Mrs. Mantashi’s long list of leadership and technology expertise will be an invaluable resource for the EHRA’s Quality Measurement Workgroup to ensure we provide the most up-to-date solutions to today’s EHR community. Together, their passion for modernizing medicine will help drive the industry forward.”
Dr. Dhanani and Mrs. Mantashi’s appointments to the EHRA now join with Modernizing Medicine’s Mandy Long’s, vice president of product management, appointment to Chair of EHRA Clinician Experience Workgroup, announced in September 2016.
