Daniel is co-CEO and cofounder of South Florida-based ModMed®, a healthcare IT company that is transforming healthcare through specialty-specific, intelligent platforms to increase practice efficiency and improve patient outcomes.

Founded in February 2010, ModMed has grown to over 1,200 employees and has raised over $332 million in total investment. Known for its progressive growth as a medical technology company, ModMed is frequently recognized both nationally and regionally for its achievements under Daniel’s leadership. In 2020, the company was named one of the Best Workplaces in the Country by Inc. magazine. Between 2016 and 2018, the company was named one of the fastest-growing companies in North America on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ list. Starting in 2015, the company has been named annually to the exclusive Inc. 5000 list, a prestigious compilation of the fastest-growing private companies in the country.

He was also named a Palm Beach County Ultimate CEO by the South Florida Business Journal and a CEO of the Year by CEO World.

An entrepreneur, Daniel has a Bachelor of Science in applied economics from Cornell University, where as an undergraduate, he cofounded Blackboard Inc., raised over $100 million in venture capital, and in 2004, helped take the company public on the NASDAQ (BBBB). In 2011, Blackboard was sold for $1.6 billion.

Active in the local community, Daniel serves on the board of trustees at Florida Atlantic University, the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, and the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Cornell University Council. In 2018 he helped to establish The Cane Institute for Advanced Technologies at Henderson/FAU High.

Daniel works, lives and enjoys life in Boca Raton, Florida, with his wife and three children.

Michael Sherling, MD, MBA

CHIEF MEDICAL AND STRATEGY OFFICER AND COFOUNDER

Dr. Michael Sherling is cofounder and Chief Medical and Strategy Officer of ModMed®. His personal passion aligns with the company’s mission of transforming how healthcare information is created, consumed and utilized to increase practice efficiency and patient outcomes. As a practicing physician, he knows firsthand just how important specialty-specific knowledge and workflows are, when it comes to saving time and focusing on patient care.

Michael is responsible for the strategy and medical innovation within the ModMed suite of products and services for the dermatology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, otolaryngology and urology specialties. Under his leadership, ModMed has established a growing user base of over 15,000 providers.

Michael is a dynamic public speaker and has had the honor of presenting at various industry events including: the Association of Dermatology Administrators & Managers (ADAM) Annual Meetings since 2017, the 2016 Dermatology Entrepreneurship Conference, and the 2015 Health 2.0 Conference, “Tools to Fix the Clinical User Experience.”

Michael has been a practicing dermatologist since 2006 and currently practices in a comprehensive skin care dermatology group in Palm Beach County, Florida. He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

Prior to relocating to Florida, he was the Associate Director of Laser Medicine and Skin Health at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and served as the Associate Residency Program Director for Harvard Medical School’s Department of Dermatology. He has several publications in peer-reviewed medical literature.

Michael obtained his Bachelor of Science in biology at Brown University with honors in 1996, his Medical Doctor degree from Yale School of Medicine with honors in 2002, and his Master of Business Administration degree from Yale School of Management in 2002. He received his clinical training at Harvard Medical School, where he served as chief resident in dermatology.

Joe Harpaz

Joe Harpaz serves as co-CEO of ModMed®. In his role, Joe leads growth and scale at ModMed as the company aims to deliver a best-in-class product and customer experience to make a true difference in healthcare tech.

Joe has over 20 years of experience in building and leading high-growth B2B software businesses that operate in complex and regulated industries. He’s known for his ability to lead and inspire large organizations while driving innovation and growth at scale.

Prior to ModMed, Joe spent over a decade at Thomson Reuters and was behind the vision, strategy, and leadership of the highest growth business in the company. As Managing Director of the Corporate Market, Joe led the industry-leading ONESOURCE™ corporate tax technology business with nearly $600 million in global revenues. Through Joe’s leadership, ONESOURCE partnered with major software vendors including NetSuite, Oracle, SAP and Microsoft amongst others and is implemented by experts at Deloitte, KPMG, PWC and E&Y as well many global system integrators and regional consultancies.

Earlier in his career, Joe founded Immediatech and the GoFileRoom™ cloud workflow solution and was recognized as an industry innovator multiple times in Accounting Technology’s “40 Under 40.” Acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2005, GoFileRoom is utilized by the leading professional services firms in the industry and was the first true web-based multi-tenant platform for managing workflow and document management for accounting firms. Joe has also served on the board of a digital healthcare company focused on quality metrics and workflow solutions for medical imaging providers and payers, which was acquired in 2017.

Joe is well known as an industry thought leader, is a frequent public speaker and a regular contributor on Forbes.com.

Joe has a degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a masters in finance from The City University of New York, Zicklin School of Business.

Michelle Scheer

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Michelle Scheer serves as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing all finance and accounting functions for ModMed®.

Michelle brings more than 20 years of financial, operational and strategic experience to her role as Chief Financial Officer. She is a highly accomplished finance leader and business partner with established success in driving business strategy to accelerate growth and improve financial results. Michelle was honored by Treasury & Risk as one of its 2012 picks for 30 outstanding corporate finance executives under age 40 (“30 under 40” list).

Before joining ModMed, Michelle spent over a decade at Thomson Reuters. During her tenure, she served as the Chief Financial Officer for Tax & Accounting, the company’s highest growth division. Michelle also served as treasurer of Thomson Reuters, where she led the evolution of the company’s capital strategy and completed the sale of the IP & Science business, among other initiatives.

Prior to Thomson Reuters, Michelle spent more than 10 years at General Motors in various treasury and finance roles, including business development, global pension funding and analysis, foreign exchange risk management, debt capital markets and investor relations.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Denise Ceule

CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER

Denise Ceule serves as Chief Legal Officer at ModMed®. Denise is an experienced lawyer with over 20 years of practice in the healthcare industry, specializing in securities law, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, compliance, and administration. Prior to joining ModMed, Denise was Chief Legal Officer at naviHealth, a leading provider in postacute care management and care transitions, where her legal, compliance and information security teams supported a high-growth business and helped build new strategic solutions.

Prior to naviHealth, Denise served as Corporate Secretary and Vice President, Law - Corporate and Securities, at Change Healthcare, formerly Emdeon, where she supported the company's 2009 IPO and 2017 joint venture with McKesson. Before joining Change Healthcare, Denise served as Senior Legal Counsel at CVS Caremark and worked on the complex 2007 merger of Caremark Rx, Inc., and CVS Corporation.

Denise received a bachelor of arts degree from Rhodes College and a doctor of law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. When she's not out hunting for vintage treasure with her husband, she's having dance parties in the kitchen with her daughter.

Brian Boyd

CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER

Brian Boyd serves as the company’s Chief Revenue Officer and is responsible for leading the sales organization including sales, sales operations and business development. He brings over 20 years of experience in the technology and services spaces where he has focused on developing growth strategies backed by strong teams that deliver industry-leading results.

Brian has a record of success in growing software and services companies by implementing creative, yet scalable solutions to maximize client success.

Prior to joining ModMed®, Brian was Regional Vice President of Sales – Americas at SAP Fieldglass, a leading SaaS provider focused on managing external labor.

As a member of the leadership team, Brian led sales, presales, business development, partner management and sales operations. During his tenure, he led teams across the globe and successfully launched the SAP Fieldglass business in Latin America. The industry-leading growth that Brian’s teams drove was a key driver behind SAP’s acquisition of Fieldglass in 2014.

Prior to SAP Fieldglass, Brian held roles in global sales, client solutions, implementation and product management at ManpowerGroup and Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses. He holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from St. Norbert College, De Pere, Wisconsin, and an Master of Business Administration degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee.

Venkatesh Jayaraman

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Venkatesh Jayaraman (VJ) serves as chief technology officer at ModMed, where he is responsible for providing strategic direction and technical leadership for the product engineering organization.

VJ has over 25 years of technology and software development experience and an extraordinary record of success in technical leadership, cross-functional product development and software architecture. He has a proven record of building business agility using Lean-Agile practices while managing large-scale enterprise organizations across multiple geographies.

Before joining ModMed, VJ was part of the executive leadership team at Vertex Inc., where he led the cloud/SaaS transformation of the product engineering organization, including cloud operations using agile methodology, modern DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering principles.

Prior to Vertex, VJ was in various leadership roles at Citrix Systems and Motorola, where he built and scaled agility across a globally distributed engineering team to achieve software engineering excellence.

VJ holds a master's degree in engineering management from the University of Florida and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from India’s National Institute of Technology. He is married with two children and loves to play tennis, volleyball and soccer.

Valerie Puckett

CHIEF COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Valerie Puckett is the Chief Compliance Officer for ModMed®. She brings 20 years of compliance experience, including building and maturing ethics and compliance programs. She leads the company’s compliance strategy by facilitating strong working relationships with senior leadership in all business units to understand key business objectives and to identify potential compliance risks.

Her primary areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, compliance, ethics, privacy, regulatory affairs, government and other contracting risk, global anticorruption, antikickback statute, Stark Law, false claims, IT security, healthcare revenue cycle, auditing and monitoring, process improvement, quality (MIPS), EDI, and leading others.

Prior to joining ModMed, Valerie most recently worked at Alliance Spine and Pain Centers as the ethics and compliance officer and McKesson Corporation where she served as the vice president, chief ethics and compliance officer over McKesson Health Solutions.

Certified in healthcare compliance (CHC), privacy (CIPP/US) and coding (CPC), Valerie received her Bachelor of Science in health/healthcare administration and management from California State University, Northridge, and earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Union University.

Dan Costantino

CHIEF INFORMATION SECURITY OFFICER

Dan Costantino serves as Chief Information Security Officer at ModMed®. Dan is an experienced technology leader and Marine Corps veteran with a background in building, optimizing and innovating information technology, products and cybersecurity programs. Prior to ModMed, he served as the VP and Chief Information Security Officer at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

Previously, Dan served as the Chief Product and Information Security Officer at an industry-leading fintech firm and oversaw information security and IT Infrastructure programs as the Chief Information Security Officer and Associate CIO of Penn Medicine, one of the top academic medical institutions in the U.S.

Throughout his career, Dan also co-managed multiple cybersecurity consulting practices and advised clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations. He has participated in countless engagements, including CISO and CIO consulting, product management, and IT and cybersecurity strategic planning.

Dan has led award-winning security programs throughout his career, earning multiple CSO50 Awards, CSO of the Year, and Best U.S. Security Team at SC Awards 2020. He also served on the board of Health-ISAC, Symantec Healthcare and VMware Healthcare Security.

Dan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Security from American Military University and an MBA from the Jack Welch Management Institute.

Irish McIntyre

CHIEF PRODUCT OFFICER

Irish is the Chief Product Officer at ModMed®. He brings over 25 years of software product management experience delivering SaaS solutions in highly regulated markets. This includes deep experience delivering platform integration and modernization strategies for both legacy technology and new acquisitions.

Prior to joining ModMed, Irish spent five years overseas in Zurich, Switzerland, focused on strategic capital planning across a large, complex public company portfolio for Thomson Reuters. This included building out best-in-class product management teams at scale, running a large acquisition as an interim General Manager out of London, and driving artificial intelligence and distributed ledger innovation in conjunction with Thomson Reuters’ R&D Labs.

Irish started his career in network and systems administration, technical support, quality assurance, development, and professional services before finding his calling in product management. Since then, he has worked as a product manager as well as a leader in the information security, customer relationship management, tax and legal spaces for companies like Lotus, IBM and Thomson Reuters, in addition to multiple startups.

Originally from San Francisco, Irish is married with three sons. For the super geeky, Irish’s first computer was a Commodore 64 with a 1541 floppy drive, a 1702 monitor and a 300-baud modem. That’s where it all began.

Jody Beaverson

CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER

Jody Beaverson serves as Chief People Officer at ModMed®. In this role, she leads ModMed’s people strategy and ensures its alignment with key business imperatives. She is responsible for building and maintaining all aspects of the working experience for ModMed employees.

Jody brings more than 20 years of progressive human resources leadership and expertise as well as a track record of successfully leading organizations through pivotal times of growth and transformation.

Before joining ModMed, Jody served as Senior Vice President, People, at Change Healthcare (CHNG). In this role, she and her team were responsible for developing, influencing and enabling the people strategy of the organization in support of achieving business objectives and creating a strong pipeline of talent to enable growth.

Jody holds a bachelor of science in Business Management from Bowling Green State University.

Adam Kupperman

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF SPECIALTY BUSINESS AND GENERAL MANAGER OF DERMATOLOGY

Adam Kupperman is the Senior Vice President of Specialty Business and the General Manager of Dermatology. Adam brings more than 20 years of B2B software and technology experience with deep expertise in go-to-market and revenue cycle disciplines across startup, high growth, and established business environments that operate in complex and regulated markets.

Prior to joining ModMed, Adam was a member of the executive leadership team at Regulatory DataCorp (RDC), a leading provider of anti-money-laundering, know-your-customer data and due diligence solutions that was acquired by Moody’s in 2020. While at RDC, Adam was responsible for building, scaling and operating the partnerships, account management and customer success functions.

Prior to RDC, Adam spent 13 years at Thomson Reuters in a variety of senior leadership roles, including head of go-to-market for ONESOURCE, general manager of ONESOURCE Firm Edition, and a variety of general management roles serving both small and global accounting firms.

Adam has an undergraduate degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. He is married with three children and loves to play tennis and softball and go skiing with his family.

Rob Ware

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF REVENUE CYCLE MANAGEMENT

Rob Ware serves as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) at ModMed®. In this role, Rob leads the Business and Office Operations Services and Technology (BOOST) team and is focused on delivering a consistent, high-quality RCM experience to ModMed BOOST customers.

Rob has spent more than 20 years driving strategic and operational improvement. Before joining ModMed, Rob served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager at Curae Finance, a fintech company that enables flexible patient payment options. Rob was responsible for postsales operations and driving operational improvements, which included product strategy, implementation and service delivery processes, customer success management, and technology integration.

Prior to Curae, Rob was the Vice President and General Manager of RCM at Greenway Health, where he led the RCM leadership team to double the scale of the RCM business, while improving customer outcomes and KPIs.

In the first half of his career, Rob was in private equity as a member of the operations team at Vista Equity Partners and held numerous consulting roles, where he focused on go-to-market strategy creation, merger and acquisition management, and process and operational improvements.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and earned his Master of Business Administration degree from MIT Sloan School of Management. Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and two young kids, and anything to do with the outdoors.

Rich Alessi

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF CUSTOMER SUCCESS

Rich Alessi is the Senior Vice President of Customer Success for ModMed®, where his team delivers the company’s core belief and vision of “customer delight” throughout the entire postsale experience. He leads the ModMed implementation, training, customer support and customer success functions, which consistently earn industry-leading results in the areas of client retention, net promoter score, and client satisfaction.

The Customer Success team at ModMed has been recognized with multiple customer service and customer success awards (2017 SIIA CODiE “Customer Success Team of the year,” 2018 Customer Sales & Services World Awards® “Customer Service Team of the Year,” 2019 Customer Sales & Services World Awards “Best Use of Technology in Customer Service,” 2022 Silver Stevie® Award “Customer Service Department of the Year,” 2024 BIG Excellence in Customer Service Award, 2024 Gold Stevie® Award “Customer Service Department of the Year”).

Rich has 15 years of experience in B2B software operations leadership roles and has developed a successful track record building customer success, professional services, customer support and managed services teams, which demonstrate tangible and ongoing value to customers in complex and regulated industries. Prior to this, he accumulated 10 years of experience in technology leadership positions at large and small companies.

Before joining ModMed, Rich was the Head of Professional Services for Thomson Reuters, where he led large-scale global teams implementing tax, legal and compliance software solutions for customers of all sizes. He also held other roles at Thomson Reuters, leading customer success and technical support. Rich has held leadership roles at high-growth start-ups (Sabrix, Marketlive) as well as large established companies (First Data).

Rich has a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from California State University, Chico, and a Master of Business Administration degree from San Francisco State University Lam Family College of Business.

Celine Kaiser

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF SPECIALTY BUSINESS

Celine Kaiser is the Senior Vice President of Specialty Business at ModMed®. She oversees the growth specialties and businesses, including ModMed Plastic Surgery, ModMed Podiatry, ModMed Urology, ModMed OBGYN, ModMed Pay and ModMed Patient Collaboration. With over 20 years of international experience across diverse industries such as healthcare, fintech, hospitality, travel and telecom, Celine excels in defining comprehensive go-to-market strategies and orchestrating their seamless execution.

Before joining ModMed, Celine served as the Vice President of Product Management at Merchant Link, a joint venture of First Data and JPMorgan Chase based in Washington, DC. In that role, she was responsible for product strategy and launch, pricing, corporate training, customer success and PMO. Earlier in her career, Celine held positions as a management consultant in the telecom industry and as a product manager in the travel industry.

Dan Dalton

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE

Dan Dalton serves as Senior Vice President of Finance for ModMed® and leads the financial planning and analysis, procurement, and deal desk functions.

Dan brings with him more than 20 years of finance experience ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies, with the bulk of his career being spent in finance roles with various technology companies. Prior to joining ModMed, Dan’s recent experience focused on helping growth-stage software as a service (SaaS) companies scale and mature operations.

He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Iowa, Henry B. Tippie College of Business, and a master’s degree in information systems from San Diego State University.

Andy Cohen

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT

Andy Cohen serves as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Modernizing Medicine®, responsible for leading transactions through the complete M&A life cycle, and collaboratively evaluating strategic opportunities that will help grow and scale the company.

Andy brings extensive transaction and strategic experience, having completed over 60 acquisitions with an aggregate value of over $5 billion and dozens of partnerships and investments. He was most recently Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Acquia, a leading digital experience platform SaaS company. Before that, Andy spent 15 years as the Head of Corporate Development and Strategic Investments at Citrix. He also worked in corporate development and finance at Parametric and started his career at Digital. Andy has degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He is an active angel investor and sits on a number of private company boards.

Originally from Boston and still a Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan, Andy has been in South Florida for over 20 years and is an avid tennis player, mediocre swimmer and bad but enthusiastic golfer.

Brad Rennick

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS INTEGRATION

Brad Rennick serves as the Senior Vice President of Business Integration for Modernizing Medicine, bringing twenty years of software B2B relationship management, solutions delivery, organizational development, and business integration experience. He leads the value realization, organizational planning, cultural unification, and customer engagement strategies for all new companies joining the Modernizing Medicine family. Brad joined Modernizing Medicine in 2011, spending 9 years building our award winning Client Services organization supporting thousands of customers and driving client delight into the fabric of our operations.

Prior to joining Modernizing Medicine, Brad led the enterprise account team for Campus Management Corp. (CMC), a postsecondary education student information systems and CRM solutions. During his five year tenure, Brad was instrumental in developing CMC's enterprise account management strategy and rapid expansion, coupled with partner relationship management and post acquisition business integration. Brad’s held positions in Senior Account Management, Project Management, and Sales roles in South Florida and Chicago based software and technology consulting firms.

Kathleen Bocek

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF PEOPLE, PLACES AND ADMINISTRATION

Kathleen Bocek joined Modernizing Medicine in 2018 as the Senior Vice President of People, Places and Administration. In this role she oversees people operations for the company’s more than 750 employees, plus business partners, HR operations, people services and facilities.

Kathleen brings over 20 years of providing people resource and support experience, specializing in developing human resources vision and strategy, making the human resources function part of operations with reporting metrics, managing a large remote workforce, and providing support to the "people" part of business.

Before joining Modernizing Medicine, Kathleen served as the vice president of human resources for Campus Management Corp., a software development company that provides post-secondary education institutions with administrative and academic solutions. She worked as vice president of people resources for Willow CSN (now Arise), a leading provider of virtual business services, where she was responsible for people operations, recruiting, staffing, training, culture and general support. Previously, she worked as the director of human resources for the Home Shopping Network.

The South Florida Business Journal honored Kathleen with an award for Outstanding Leadership in Human Resources in 2009, and she served on the Board of Susan G. Komen South Florida from 2011 through 2015. She holds an MA in human resource management from Marymount University and a BA in biology from Loyola Marymount University.

Karen O'Byrne

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Karen joined Modernizing Medicine in 2011 and serves as chief financial officer, overseeing all finance and accounting functions for Modernizing Medicine. Karen brings more than 25 years of financial, operational and strategic experience from technology-based organizations, including enterprise software, B2C technology, systems integration, web hosting and managed services. She is strategically minded, with a proven record of driving profit improvement, leading business growth, establishing and scaling efficient operations, and building operationally focused teams.

Prior to Modernizing Medicine, Karen served as chief financial officer for Campus Management Corp., a software development company that provides post-secondary education institutions with administrative and academic solutions. Karen also served as senior director of business planning and finance for Verio, Inc., an NTT America company that provides global web hosting and managed services. Karen began her career in public accounting, with nine years of advisory and attestation management experience serving both publicly and privately held companies across a wide range of industries.

In 2017, Karen was honored by Florida Governor Rick Scott with the Business Ambassador Award. The South Florida Business Journal also listed Karen one of South Florida’s Most Influential Business Women in 2013 and named her 2014 CFO of the year. In 2019, Modernizing Medicine received the SEE Award (Transformer Category) from Zuora.

Karen is active in the community and serves on the board of directors for PACE Center for Girls Broward.

She is a certified public accountant and a certified global management accountant and holds an MBA and BS in accounting, both from the University of Florida.

Mark Fleisher

SENIOR EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL COUNSEL

Mark serves as Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Mark has over 20 years of experience in providing legal representation to technology companies. Prior to joining ModMed®, Mark was a partner with K&L Gates LLP, an international law firm.

Prior to K&L Gates, Mark served as Of Counsel with the firm Broad and Cassel and as an associate in the Silicon Valley offices of Latham & Watkins LLP and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, PC. Mark also previously served as director, legal—North America for Avanex Corporation, which was a Silicon Valley-based provider of photonic processing solutions.

Mark received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.

Jay Schwitzgebel

CHIEF INFORMATION SECURITY OFFICER

Jay Schwitzgebel serves as Chief Information Security Officer at ModMed®. In this role, he establishes and maintains the enterprise vision, strategy and program designed to protect information assets and technologies. Jay specializes in information security and privacy regulations, creation of internal control frameworks, information security and privacy incident response, along with security event monitoring.

He brings over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, many of which have been in health IT. Most recently he served as the Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at HealthPlan Services, which is the largest independent provider of sales, benefits administration, retention and technology, providing comprehensive solutions to the insurance and managed care industries.

Previously, Jay held leadership roles in companies such as CareSource and CIGNA, where he worked to build new security capabilities and practices. He began his career as an officer in the US Air Force, where he gained security experience with the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team.

Jay received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University and his Master of Science degree in engineering management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Steve Bethke

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

Steve Bethke serves as Senior Vice President of Product Management for Modernizing Medicine. In this role, Steve leads investment and delivery of Modernizing Medicine's solutions, working to maximize value to our customers.

Steve has over 20 years experience in Healthcare and Technology, successfully building companies and solutions across the care continuum.

Prior to Modernizing Medicine, Steve led Product Management for Kinnser Software including driving significant growth and a successful private equity transaction. Steve has also held executive leadership roles at high growth start-ups (Lumeris) as well as large enterprises (Optum).

Steve has a Bachelors degree in Engineering from Boston University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Patric Edmondson

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Patric Edmondson serves as chief technology officer at ModMed®. He oversees the development of the company’s software products and separately manages the cloud services engineering, data, corporation operations and corporate IT teams. Prior to joining ModMed, Patric served in executive roles at Campus Management and Verio and served as deputy CIO for Broward County.

Patric holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Florida Atlantic University.

Patrick DeAngelo

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF BUSINESS SERVICES

Patrick DeAngelo is the senior vice president and general manager of business services. He is responsible for business services operations and sales, as well as Modernizing Medicine professional services, including MIPS Advising.

Over the past 20 years, Patrick’s leadership experience in all aspects of revenue cycle, patient experience and practice workflow has driven both top- and bottom-line improvement for physicians, hospitals and health systems. Patrick’s focus on setting goals based on quality and results-driven metrics inspires teams to strive for continuous improvement while promoting a high-performing, enthusiastic corporate culture.

Patrick has a vast background in both operational and technical enterprise-wide revenue cycle leadership positions within various healthcare organizations, including some of the largest companies in the business: Siemens, McKesson and Change Healthcare.

Patrick then spent over 12 years with McKesson and Change Healthcare in roles including CIO/CTO, SVP of integration, SVP & GM of strategic services, and SVP & GM of hospital & health system. He successfully delivered innovative technology, drove continuous process improvement and established an immense global footprint focused on operational excellence.

Patrick has a well-founded reputation of building and maintaining strategic customer relationships while innovating and shifting business responsibilities based on the latest healthcare trends.

Patrick holds a BS in biology from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania.

Adam Scott Riff

CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER

Adam Scott Riff serves as Chief Marketing Officer at ModMed®, where he leads the company’s overall marketing strategy. The ModMed Marketing team has been recognized with two Campaign of the Year awards — the 2022 Gold Stevie® Award and Business Intelligence Group’s 2020 PR & Marketing Excellence Awards for the “It’s About Time” and “Telehealth and the New Normal” campaigns, respectively.

He brings over 20 years of executive leadership with both startup and Fortune 500 marketing expertise, as well as a proven track record of entrepreneurial success.

Prior to joining ModMed, Adam served as a trusted marketing officer for private equity and public company stakeholders, including Fortune 500 companies ADT and Office Depot. Adam also served as a Senior Vice President at MediaWhiz, where he started the search engine marketing division from scratch and grew it to the 11th-largest search agency in the country in 2012. In addition, Adam founded and led a technology-based demand-generation marketplace, Exact Match Media, to an Inc. 500 ranking and successful acquisition in 2017.

Adam is a digital thought leader and keynote speaker with 15+ publications in marketing journals including Ad Age, Search Engine Land, iMedia and many others. He’s regarded as a transformational leader focused on delivering profitable growth through data-driven marketing strategies with a focus on user experience and building high performing teams.

He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business.

Adam is a proud husband and a father of two incredible girls. When he’s not dreaming up marketing campaigns or spending time with his family, you’ll find him in a gym, watching a Miami Heat game, or listening to way too many podcasts.

Carol Jensen

CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER

Carol serves as Chief People Officer at Modernizing Medicine®, bringing over 20 years of experience and a track record of success in C-suite human resources and marketing positions. In her current role, Carol has overall responsibility for people team functions and services (including talent acquisition, people operations, leadership development, DE&I, human resources business partners, facilities and security).

Prior to Modernizing Medicine, Carol held a number of senior executive roles. Most recently, Carol was the Chief People Officer at Flatiron Health, which provides cancer-specific EHR and practice services and a platform for better patient experience, a healthier practice and smarter research. Before that, Carol was Chief Marketing Officer for 10 years and Chief People Officer for 3 years at Wawa. Wawa is a fresh food and convenience retailer with over 900 stores and 30,000 employees. Carol was a Vice President of Human Resources at both ING and Citigroup, with responsibility for the delivery of people team services to specific business units, as well as holding a variety of functional roles in training, compensation and employee relations.

Carol received a B.A. in English from the University of Delaware, and her M.S. in Human Resources Management from The New School University. She currently serves on the Board of Alula, a management consultancy focused on understanding how human behavior influences business performance, and has previously served on the not-for-profit Boards of the Open Medicine Foundation, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Delaware Valley and Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia.

In her spare time, Carol enjoys golfing, traveling and hanging out with her husband and 3 sons.
